Kapalai Dive Resort is a perennial favorite of romance. People love to get married here, and those who are already married prefer have their honeymoons or renew their pledges here. That is one of the reasons the place remains booked most parts of the year.

The resort consists of fifty spacious chalets made of wood, each with a perfect ocean view and enough privacy.

Kapalai is an excellent site for macro diving. The area is so rich in marine life that the tiny creatures are visible even from the surface of the water. Since Kapalai has plenty of underwater fauna in shallow waters as well as deep waters, it is a suitable dive site for both beginners and experienced divers.

The harlequin ghost pipefish is a master of camouflage. In addition, there are numerous frogfish with its down-turned mouth, blue-ringed octopus, the flamboyant cuttlefish that empties its ink sac on its enemies, giant moray eels, mandarin fish, dragonets, gobies, gurnards, turtles, rays, and crocodile fish are just a few of the rich fauna in Kapalai.

Dining Services

The most popular meal is the buffet with a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. It is served at the main restaurant where you can dine in the open.

There is also a sundeck for enjoying your snacks and drinks.

Other services

The resort has a game room and good internet access. Equipments necessary for recreational activities like kayaking, snorkelling, and scuba diving are available at the dive center for hire.

Packages

Guests are offered two types of packages – one with snorkeling and one with diving.

Package 1 (with diving)

Kapalai diver's package:

• Pickup from Tawau airport and transfer to Semporna Jetty (return)
• Boat journey from Semporna Jetty to Kapalai resort (return)
• Stay at the resort - twin-share or triple-share according to choice
• Attached bathrooms with bathtub and hot shower
• Unlimited opportunities for diving
• Free night dives in front of the dive centre
• Tanks, belt and weights provided
• Varied and somptuous buffet every day
• Snacks in the afternoon
• Beverages like coffee, tea, and cordials provided all day long

Note: Though this package includes diving, it does not guarantee diving at Sipadan. Although diving at Sipadan is possible, there is always a long list of people waiting for a chance to dive there. Since people are chosen on first come first served basis, the resort don't guarantee anyone a Sipadan dive. All we can say is that if you stay more than three days, you are likely to get a high chance.

Package 2 (Snorkeling = non-divers)

• Pickup from Tawau airport and transfer to Semporna Jetty (return)
• Boat journey from Semporna Jetty to Kapalai resort (return)
• Stay at the resort - twin-share or triple-share according to choice
• Attached bathrooms with bathtub and hot shower
• Delicious fresh food cooked by our chef (buffet style)
• Additional snacks in the afternoon
• Snorkelling equipment provided for hire
• Beverages like tea, coffee, and cordials provided throughout
